Driving through Lap. Supratman and Cendana St. leading to Riau the Factory Outlet district could actually save the traffic hassle, and it only requires a mere 5 minutes drive from Saskava Guest House. Vice versa from either decent restaurant of House of Suis at the corner of Riau and Anggrek St. driving through the latter street is a traffic breeze returning to the Saskava Guest House.

Our accommodation style and location offers quiet, secluded section for the ultimate family vacation enhancements. Ample size of room dimension particularly the brand new room has each 6 x 4 meter square area including individual bathroom amenity. Unlike other places each room also provides relative comfort with twin sized bed facility which could be easily shifted adjacent to each other for family purposes. Furthermore there is still more spaces for extra bed where other hotel generally provide "economical" extra spaces at commercial rate.

Best of all during our trial running we will have in occasions attractive room rate even at the peak season. Last Ramadhan Festive and Chrismast holiday we did offer our brand new rooms at ridiculous price at Rp. 160,000 per night. Similarly to celebrate our GrandMa's birthday we will have ridiculously low price at Rp. 200,000 per night excluding breakfast during the third week of this January 2010 (22 - 23 January 2010).

Bandung Trip Map Guide

This map guide shows how close proximity of Saskava Guest House to the famous Riau Street, where you could find dozens of factory outlets. These outlets provide ............ all kind of branded, non branded as well as warez look alike well known brand. Other similar area closeby to the West of Gedung Sate is Dago Street. In fact many hotels, restaurants and outlets are scattered around Gedung Sate's perimeter and along Supratman Street itself. Two objects of tourism worthwhile to mention are Geology museum and for those with younger kids the Cisangkuy horse riding. Other landmarks are also shown as a rough guide. The map is based on a 1930s Bandung's town planning! The area depicted on map was the 2nd phase of Bandung city extension in that year, in fact its 1st phase was already implemented and it encompassed the Western section of Riau Street extending from Gedung Sate up to Braga and along the "Main Post Road". Or in the past known as Groote Postweg which was initiated and dully instructed to be built by Daendels in 1809, where thousands of indigenuos forced labourers died. Subsequently the 36th Dutch Indies Governor General had faced many revolts against the local Kingdoms.

The area within the map was intended for Government officer's housing complex with many beautiful cluster of parks, houses and well executed roading, pavement and infrastructures as well as green lush surroundings. Every house cluster was followed with small stream running in between serving as storm drainage as well as sewage outlets. You could still see the evidence today, and this is one of the reason which make Bandung a well known city of pleasure.

A window of opportunity of one kind might not be one on the next time around! Being not wanting to have a forgone opportunity, we are dare enough to embark for a new venture. First of all it is an old Dutch Indies building, secondly it require a gentle loving renovation and thirdly what do we do about it?

We did conclude it has all heritage values it has inherited, so a heritage preservation had been done. However it is not finish as yet. It requires a new soul, a new ambience for further sustainable development.

Have a look at left picture; the window of opportunity has manages itself to be a real authentic window. A typical window of the newly revived old Dutch Indies building. It was formerly a simple Grandma's house, the kind of place for all her children and grand-children meet and keep the family tradition. The kind of family tradition that has bind a harmony and loving relationship, which will linger on for may be a few generations to come.

Being privileged to have a family tradition as most people do; could be a starting point. Yes, we will turn this Grandma's house into a Grandma's Guest House. Though there is a different ambience now, yet it may serve as a terminal for those looking for a quality in their family time spending together. The time indeed to enjoy Bandung city atmosphere!

The main principle renovation (Stage I) has actually finished by last December 2008, we are now happy to announce our Trial Running Operation by welcoming any guest!

1. Location ; Jln. Lap. Supratman No. 4, Bandung. As you exit Pasteur exit gateway from Cipularang toll, drive ahead following the main road (fmr) passing the fly over bridge. Take a right turn at Gazeebo court (Telkom and Gedung Sate), and proceed a left turn to Jln. Supratman. Follow the main road (fmr) till you get into a traffic lighted T junction, Pusat Pendidikan Infanteri (Infantry Training Center) and there is a reasonably large park to your right. This is Lap. Supratman, so take a right turn after the park you'll see immediately the Saskava Guest House about midway before you reach Jln. Cendana.

3. Currently we have only 3 bedrooms (4.5x4.2 m2 average), 1 family room (6.8x6.9 m2) and 4 new bedrooms (4x6 m2).
